Last time I reviewed a bad movie, so I'm going to put a good movie in part 3 of Sci-Fi Month. Disney's Lilo and Stitch! Image as found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilo_%26_Stitch I have one in my family too! His name is Steve. Yea... I don't want to talk about it. So, anyway, Stitch has become a modern icon these days. He had his own series in America, and two in Japan. Plus, in my class, everyone has seen the movie. How about that? So, I live in Hawaii, and I can't relate to the setting. It takes place on the island of Kawaii, while I live in Oahu. But, I an say they got some parts of the culture right. But, what about the rest?
Well, of course, our two main characters are Lilo and Stitch. Who did you think it was, Abraham Lincoln and Bugs Bunny? So, Lilo is one of the most accurate reprentations of a little kid I've ever seen. And I know, I'm a little kid! Hey, I'm 12, I'm still in my kid years, I got 11 more good days. So, they got that down, and Stitch is just fun and insane. How can anybody hate him. I love him as a chainsaw and laser wielding alien and I love him as a destrutive puppy dog. I can relate it to my beauty of a dog, Chomper. There's also Agent Pleakely who I also find neat, and Jumbaa who I just love as an evil scientist. I can feel for him and laugh at him for the same time. Don't forget Nani, Lilo's older sister. I can really feel for her, trying to find a job to keep Lilo with food on the table, and keep the secret service agent (Who's also a really relateable character, he's not evil, just doing his job) from taking her to an orphanage. I really love all of these chracters. And I also love the plot, beause it resembles the veriety of chracters. Crazy and adventerous meets heartwarming and tragic. The two go together really well. It may be a plot we've all seen, but how they presented it and bought something new to it, as well as mixing two different elements together, makes it perfect. The animation is really well. Disney is returning with watercoler for the first time since Dumbo, and it helps bring the hawaiian theme and the space theme. I may sound like a mina bird (A hawaiian bird that repeats everything, like a parrot) but again, two different elements combined into one. That's why I love this film. It knows how to give us a whole veriety of different things and blend them together like they belong. From tragedy to insanity, this movie is a classic that anyone can see, and take away something at the end. And here's why... Characters - 93/100 All of these characters, near perfection Plot - 79/100 Though predictable, it doesn't feel like it when watching it. Emotion - 85/100 Eispecially the Aloha Oy song (Sounds really heartwarming doesn't it), the tragedy may bring a few tears to your eyes. Animaiton - 78/100 Though it may be different from the Disney Style, and it may look a little fuzzy sometime, it's true to the hawaiian nature. Overall - 83.75/100. What can I say, it's a classic. A+! So, I said everything... over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. So.... good day and good night. What's the conclusion of Sci-Fi Month? I don't know.
