Where do I begin, there is so many things in this film worth mentioning. First of all, I would like to say this… I predict this to be the FUNNIEST ANIMATED MOVIE OF THE YEAR! I had two extreme comedies to look forward to, this one and that Pirate movie. I was looking forward to this one, when the other one does come out, ugh; I hope you appreciate what I do for you. Anyway, this isn’t the mystery review, but I had to put this is before I forget, so, the mystery one will be my 5th review. Now, let’s jump right into Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
So, what’s good about it? Well, the songs are amazing. Yes, this is a musical, the creators of Despicable Me and Hop made a musical this time, and the songs really do fit in well. Yes, there are a few I didn’t like, for example the song, this is the Place, that song I just found awkward. The other songs, though, may give Disney a run for their money. The comedy is also pretty good. I also loved some of the characters. The main character, Ted, by Zac Effron, is likeable, and even though he’s the type of character we all heard about, Zac’s performance was good enough. Well, much better than his performance in High School Musical I promise you that. The character Taylor Swift plays, ugh, I don’t think she was really necessary for the story. I think it would’ve gone more smoothly if Ted just heard stories about trees from his grandmother, and heard of the Onceler, and became interested. To me, she kind of ruins the moral. Things won’t get better unless if you care, and you only care for some girl you find in school. Message for the kids! Anyway, the Onceler is really well developed. He was hilarious and fun when he was young, and he’s very wise, but also very emotionally round as he’s older, and personally, I think he’s the heart of the film. The villain, O’hare, is your typical power hungry mayor who only cares about money, and I’ve seen this villain about 7 times before! But, on the other hand, they found a way to make this type of character fun and hilarious, and I did enjoy him as a villain. Plus, he sells air to people, that’s kind of evil. Though, logically, this doesn’t make any sense what so ever, but that’s the joy of an animated movie, it doesn’t have to be realistic. In this world, there can still be air in the outside world even though it’s only in a jar that’ll be used up in about 7.5 hours in a family of 3. Though, there’s one thing that get’s under my grill, what happens if you forget to pay the air bills?
Everyone in Schneedville
By a person forgetting to pay the air bills, and O’hare cutting the air, suffocating everyone.
Wait, if everyone is dead, who carved this anyway?
And how did the Onceler survive without, eh, just forget it; I’m trying to put logic inside a Dr. Seuss book!
The grandmother is awesome, though I’ve seen this character before! The grandmother who’s full of energy and the strongest character in the story, but again, they made it fresh and hilarious, and if they do that I don’t really care. All characters are kind of fun besides Taylor Swift, but my favorite is the Lorax. Yes, who else could it be? He’s funny, he’s emotional, he’s all powerful, he’s father like to the animals, he’s everything! I just love the Lorax, oh hale the Lorax. What advice do you give to me wise one?

Throw those you don’t like in a river?
What? Ok, now let’s move on to the beautiful animation. Ok, now let’s leave the beautiful animation. So, overall The Lorax is calm, beautiful, and an overall great experience which both, the kids and the kids at heart will enjoy. I admit, this isn’t Arrietty good, but I still praise it, and I think this is Illumination studio’s best work. I liked it better than the book, because it explains more things and I think it went to extra grounds to make the story enjoyable. Plus, the action scenes are pretty epic. So, these are my final evaluations.
Story – 73/100 I think it’s more developed and enjoyable than the book itself, and though it still isn’t the best and could use a little more polish, and it leaves things unexplained, I had a fun time seeing this film. Why do critics give it mixed reviews? I don’t know, they hate all humanity or something.
Characters – 69/100 Though I don’t think every pop singer should be in a movie, all, I mean, most of the characters are part of the tracks to one exciting ride.
Comedy – 79/100 This is a hilarious movie, and it doesn’t go overboard, which I love about the Lorax, it can be faithful to the original book, be different, and be dramatic while being hilarious.
Heart – 83/100 Ok, some of this might be a bit intense. Though it doesn’t have a dark ending like the book, seeing them whole Barboloot or however you spell it forest only a field of trunks and death is kind of horrifying. If you don’t believe in being green, this movie will make you hate yourself.
Music – 80/100 The music is pretty good. They all have at least some good and enjoyable movements and they presented them so beautifully it’s a sack of what just happened moments that you will love each and every single measure of.
Overall- 76.8/100 (A) Again, not Arrietty good, but it’s still enjoyable and the whole family will enjoy it. So, go see it, I’m done with you. WAIT, DON’T CLICK X! I GOT MORE TO SAY! Gasp, can no one take a joke these days. So, how will that new Pirate movie be, well, I’ll sit in my room and cry. So, for now, good day and good night.
The Lorax 76.8/100 A
