Image as found on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_Story Ok, this is my 10th ever movie review! Considered one of the best animated movies of all time, this is the first Pixar film and the first ever computer animated feature yet... don't leave me when I say I think it's a tad overrated. DON'T LEAVE! YOU STUCK WITH ME FOR 9 OTHER REVIEWS, YOU'RE NOT LEAVING ME NOW, I DIDN'T REVIEW CARE BEARS FOR NOTHING! Now that we got that out of the way, I agree, it's a classic, I just don't think it's with the best of Pixar. So, let's see things in my point of view in Toy Story. First of all, I love all of the characters. Since there a lot, I'll only talk about 5. Woody and Buzz are equally as likeable. Woody being jealous of Buzz for being Andy's new favorite. Just like a boy being jealous of his baby sibling, except, he wouldn't push the baby out of the window, and get hanged for it, well, in Texas he might, but, I'm overanalyzing this. Now, Sid, I personally feel he isn't that good of a villian. I think Mr. Potato Head suits that quality more. Though, I do admire how they made a little boy look menacing, but, he does get really creepy. Speaking of which, am I the only one who realizes how disturbing this movie is. A bunch of toys die, get mutated, jointed, and there is also threat of hanging! HANGING! But, we'll get to this in the plot. Now we'll get to the plot. (Hamm is awesome and Mr. Potato is funny, but sometimes I want to make a french fry out of him) The toy story itself isn't that bad itself. Though, there is a bunch of random tone changes. It goes from joy, gross, joy, gross, sad, joy, gross, joy! At least it's mostly joy? Ew. I love the toy puns, but overall, the story is enjoyable, but nothing really special. I think in that standards, Toy Story 2 may be better, and Toy Story 3 wins by a long shot! Who doesn't love the music... I don't! Ok, who doesn't like You Got a Friend in Me, but the rest aren't that memorable. So, let's move on to my final analysis if you're still here. Plot - 76/100 Nothing that extordinary, but it is part of the charm too! But, joy, gross, joy! Characters - 80/100 Some are better than others, enough to say. Comedy - 73/100 Loving the toy puns... most of the time Heart - 73/100 It is indeed really emotional, but it's hard to get into Buzz and Woody's relationship when this is in the background... Overall - 75/100 Overall, this is a very enjoyable film with a few plot problems and creepy times that may question it's G rating. But, I think kids will enjoy this ok. I personally love this film, and I do think it's a classic, I just think it isn't the biggest of classics! I myself, prefer the sequels. So, that was my 10th movie review, so good day and I can't end it like this. It's too, normal. I know! Good day, good night, and good, uh, movie. Happy 10th Move Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
