Hello, this is my first movie review, now, I wonder what I got to review this time, but since this is the first, I know it’s going to be a… As found on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844993/
Good one! Yes, a good one! Very funny, now let’s see the real first subject! ……………. Really, this is it. The world is a cruel place! Luckily, I’m not alone, because joining me tonight is Poor Man! "Hello, nice to be here and join you for your first review, so what are we reviewing?" Hoodwinked Too! "Yea, I forgot, I got an appointment with the Zebra Gangsters, so, got to go!" Coward, ok, so we’ll be talking about to good things about this movie and the bad things. Now, this is often referred to as one of the worst animated films in history, and let me tell you, I love the first Hoodwinked, it was clever, funny, and adventurous! But, let’s see if this sequel will hold up to the, oh who am I kidding, let’s just move on! The Good Things Actually, this film was quite surprising to me, because there were some scenes that I enjoyed. For example, the comedy is pretty good. Sometimes though, it does feel a little forced. Now for the characters, well, I hate all of the new characters, except for the witch. She was pretty round, and I grew to like her, and the old characters. Well, I actually love Twitchy better in this film. I don’t know why, but he seemed more intelligent and he’s a better secret agent than the wolf. My favorite scene would have to be on the 3rd act. The climax for me was pretty exciting, and I give them credit for making the climax a bit more on mind tricks then action. Now, for the… The Bad Things Now, let’s start with the plot! It’s just very predictable; I knew what was going to happen next, in fact, they even gave away the ending in the middle of the 3rd act. Oh, and this is not a spoiler, you find this out in like, 30-40 minutes of the movie… Hansel and Gretel, are one of the worst villains I’ve ever seen in my life! The harp and the giant were more annoying then funny, and they barely even have any point in the story. Now, for the old characters, Gus barely makes any screen time, the bunny isn’t funny anymore, Red, well, she gained some character development, but isn’t exactly interesting. The relationship with Granny and the witch is pretty interesting, but it isn’t enough to make hope for Granny. The wolf is still the same, but my biggest disappointment is with the frog, Flippers. In the first film, he was funny and wise, here he’s barely in the movie, and I don’t find him very interesting. But, it isn’t really as bad as I thought. So, Poor Man, where are you now!? You forgot to mention the sisters of the hood Dang it Poor Man, I’m reserving an alligator for you! Anyway, he does make a good point; the Sisters of the Hood are just uninteresting. They’re an important piece of the plot, but if they are going to be important, MAKE THEM AT LEAST INTERESTING! Conclusion Well, it’s better than I thought, but it doesn’t stop it from being a bad movie! I don’t know, I enjoyed some scenes, but it’s just kind of bland sometimes, and considering the synopsis, that’s saying a lot! Now, I will organize my points by the Plot, the characters, the comedy, and the heart. Now, here we go. Plot: 59/100 Well, even though it’s predictable, it offers some sort of charm, though the pop culture references are annoying. But, personally, I sort of liked how the story went. Characters: 40/100 Here’s where I kind of get critical. The only characters I liked is some of the old ones and the witch. The rest are either unnecessary, or just not interesting. L Comedy: 63/100 This is the movie’s strong point, yes, there are a lot of pop culture references, and kids won’t even get it! It references films from the 80s, and they aren’t even kid’s films. But, that’s only partial of the humor, though sometimes it’s thrown on the wrong time, the comedy is actually quite good. Heart: 29/100 This is where the movie falls fat, there is little to no heart! The only part I felt emotion on is the Witch’s scenes, but even then, it isn’t quite memorable. Total: 48 /100 Using Metacritic scores rocks! So, I recommend this to children, but can’t make any promises. It isn’t as bad as everybody says it is, but, it’s still bad. So, see you next time, hey, what is the next review anyway? And if you say Mars Needs Moms I will hunt you down! Man, that movie was horrible. So, next time is A Troll in Central Park, and, well, yea, has a nice day. And I will not review Mars Needs Moms!
